## Our Story

Saje was founded in 1992 in Vancouver, British Columbia, by married couple
Kate and Jean-Pierre LeBlanc. After Jean-Pierre was in a car accident, well-meaning doctors continued to treat his symptoms with different
medications that ultimately resulted in side effects and continued challenges
to both his mental and physical health. When he received a diagnosis of
fibromyalgia, he decided there ‘had to be a better way’.
With a background in chemistry, Jean-Pierre began exploring alternate
wellness modalities like ayurvedic medicine and Traditional Chinese
Medicine and when he happened upon aromatherapy, he knew he had found
what he was looking for. Jean-Pierre began working with an aromatherapist
to blend what would become the first product ever created at Saje:
Peppermint Halo. Today, Peppermint halo remains our best-selling remedy
and an important part of our story.
