What is Extra Strength formulated for?

How do I apply Extra Strength?

Apply a thin and even layer to the affected area up to 3-4 times per day. Rub and/or massage into skin until solution is absorbed. (For use beyond 7 days, consult a healthcare practitioner, do not apply to wounds or damaged skin, do not tightly bandage, do not apply with wet compress or external heat, such as an electric heating pad.)

What are the active ingredients in Extra Strength?

METHYL SALICYLATE:

From sweet birch oil – is similar to the active ingredient in ASA / Aspirin – alleviates sore, fatigued muscles.

MENTHOL:

From peppermint essential oil – provides pain relief & increased blood flow to targeted areas by stimulating the nervous system, creating a warming / cooling sensation on the skin & muscles.

Can you tell me more about Sweet Birch - betula lenta?

The aroma can be described as sweet and sharp; a fresh and strong top note. Sweet Birch comes from a deciduous tree is native to North America home.

This essential oil is rich in methyl salicylate which have a long history of use for easing tired, fatigued muscles and is a known effective pain reliever. In aromatherapy, sweet birch is known to impart a cooling, refreshing feeling that helps lift and rejuvenate the mind.

So this is like a Pain Release with Peppermint Halo fusion?

This blend is so much more than that! Made extra strong and extra large, this brand new blend is the result of years of research and testing. We're excited to bring our community, what we believe to be, is the most effective, hardest working 100% natural pain product available!

We formulated this blend with joint, muscle and back relief in mind! This blend has nature's toughest pain relievers: the essential oils of sweet birch, clove and peppermint to support your recovery.

How do I open it? The lid is different.

To release the cap, push down first and then twist it to the right. Now you're ready to roll! We've added this extra safety mechanism on the lid as this blend has a high concentration of some strong essential oils that should be kept away from children.

How often can you use it?

Best practice has you rolling this blend thinly and evenly on the skin 3-4 times per day. Consult a trusted health care practitioner if you find you need to use it beyond 7 days to ensure that there is no other support is required for your recovery.

Who shouldn't use this product?

• Children under the age of 18 years.
• If you are taking anticoagulant medications or have any blood-related disorder, consult a healthcare practitioner prior to use.
• Do not expose the applied area(s) to the sun for 24 to 48 hours after application.
• If you have a wound or damaged skin or broken, irritated, or sensitive skin, do not use this product.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not use this product.
• If you have epilepsy or any heart disease, do not use this product.
• If you are sensitive to salicylates (often applies in add/adhd), do not use this product.

Questions regarding specific ailments, like tendonitis or plantar fasciitis:

Yes this is safe to use on most areas of the body. Keep away from eyes and mucous membranes, head or other sensitive areas as the blend is extremely aromatic and the large roller ball delivers more product than our typical double-ended roll-ons.

What happens if this feels to intense I get a reaction?

In the case of a reaction, we would recommend that you stop use immediately. Do not dilute with water or wet compresses. More sensitive individuals are recommended to try a small amount of product initially (patch test) to determine their tolerance to the blend. If no reaction occurs then the amount of product can be gradually increased up to the recommended dose. The product may also be further diluted with a common carrier such as grapeseed or jojoba.

The bottle states that this is an " counter irritant" what does this mean?

Extra Strength contains two active ingredients: Menthol (from the peppermint oil) and Methyl Salicylate (from the sweet birch), that work together to reduce the pain at the site of injury. These ingredients are thought to act by indirectly creating irritation or mild inflammation in one location (on the skin) with the goal of lessening discomfort or inflammation in another location (the area of injury). Extra Strength may create a temporary hot or cold sensation on the skin. These sensations interrupt the pain signals to the brain, essentially distracting your brain from your pain.

How safe is this product, has it been tested?

You bet! As part of our product testing, Saje conducted a third-party clinical study to determine the safety of Extra Strength on 53 healthy male and female adults. Extra Strength was rolled and rubbed on to the skin, 3 times per week for 3 consecutive weeks for a total of 9 applications. Following a 10-14 day rest period, Extra Strength was again applied on a previously untested area of the skin and monitored for any potential reactions. We’re proud to report, there were no reported signs of redness or irritation in any of the adults tested, either during the initial test or following the rest period.
