Introducing Two New Single Note Essential Oils: Lime & Balsam Fir
Two popularly requested essential oils joining our collection
OUR SINGLE NOTE ESSENTIAL OIL COLLECTION IS GROWING!
One of the most popularly requested categories of products at Saje includes our single note essential oils; your biggest request is to see this category grow! Single note essential oils refers to the singular plant species that is distilled to make an essential oil, like lavender or eucalyptus, vs referring to a blend that might contain between 3-7 different essential oils.
Before introducing any single note essential oil to our collection, we make sure to research where the plant is geographically grown and harvested, we ensure the plant is sustainably grown and is not at risk of becoming a threatened species and we work closely with our suppliers to make certain that the farming and harvesting practices meet our high standards for ethics and environmental responsibility.
We also work hard to make certain that the single note essential oils we introduce to our collection have a plethora of benefits and uses for our Community Members to help enhance their overall health and wellness. We are so pleased to announce the two newest single note essential oils joining our collection:
INTRODUCING: SWEET, CITRUSY LIME ESSENTIAL OIL
The first new essential oil we’re introducing comes to us from the tiny oil sacs found in the rind of this juicy, tart and zesty citrus fruit, the lime. Single note lime essential oil has been a long time coming; it’s the oil most frequently requested by our Community!
Once distilled, lime has a fresh, sharp, sweet and fruity note. Many people enjoy using lime essential oil in an ultrasonic diffuser because it helps to lift the mood, invite a bright, positive feeling into the room and helps make your home feel clean and fresh.
Lime essential oil is well-regarded for its purifying properties, and for being an overall well-being enhancer. The refreshing properties of lime can help you to feel uplifted and positive and can promote emotional balance and centering of the emotions.
As a sweet and fruity citrus note, lime nicely complements other citrus essential oils like lemon, orange and grapefruit.
INTRODUCING: WOODSY, RICH BALSAM FIR ESSENTIAL OIL
The second essential oil joining our collection comes to us from the mighty and abundant coniferous tree, the balsam fir. The most recognizable balsam fir? The popular holiday tree that many people decorate in their homes in December. Offering so much more than a festive decoration, we’ve added single note balsam fir to our collection for those who love rich, woody, sweet and balsamic tree-scent essential oils.
One of the most cold-hardy trees, balsam fir has had various traditional, medicinal and practical uses like boiling of the leaves to purify the air. Today, balsam fir is well-regarded in aromatherapy for helping to invite deep, clear breathing and inspiring the positive feelings one experiences while taking a walk in nature. Many people also find the fresh and uplifting scent to be relieving of stress and helpful in inducing peace and calm.
As an herbal and woody tree-scent, balsam fir nicely complements other outdoorsy essential oils like cedarwood, eucalyptus and sandalwood.
OTHER PRODUCTS INCLUDING LIME ESSENTIAL OIL
Lime single note essential oil is a popular ingredient in many of our other product formulations, too. As happy as we are to now be able to offer this zesty and fresh oil on its own, here are some of the other products we’ve been enjoying it in for a long time:
Peaceful Warrior deodorant spray: our best-selling deodorant spray is made from liquified potassium alum salts and is free from aluminum chlorohydrate and aluminum zirconium. Lime essential oil blends perfectly with patchouli, fennel and vetiver for an earthy, herbal scent profile.
Liquid Sunshine diffuser blend: this bright, cheerful diffuser blend has been our #1 seller for many years, due in part to its ability to help transform a space through the power of fresh, clean and inviting scent. Essential oils of lime, mandarin, bergamot and grapefruit create an uplifting and positive environment when diffused in any space.
Hand Sanitizer: registered as a Natural Health Product in Canada and as an Over The Counter product in the USA, we blended lime essential oil alongside aloe vera juice and 68% ethyl grain alcohol for a hand sanitizer that’s as fresh as it is effective.
OTHER PRODUCTS INCLUDING BALSAM FIR ESSENTIAL OIL
Because of how fresh and renewing balsam fir essential oil is when experienced through an ultrasonic diffuser, this hearty tree-scent makes a guest appearance in a number of our other popular diffuser blends inspired by the great outdoors:
Mountain High: rejuvenate your sense of well being with the spirit of fresh mountain air. Lofty pine, revitalizing balsam fir and energizing spearmint come together to elevate your mood to new heights.

LIFESTYLE TIPS FOR INCORPORATING SINGLE NOTE ESSENTIAL OILS INTO YOUR DAILY ROUTINE
If you’re not familiar with using single note essential oils as part of your wellness routine, here are some of our best tips for ways you can incorporate them into your daily practices and rituals:
- Diffusion. One of our very favorite ways to use single note essential oils, you can diffuse them on their own, try your hand at blending them together or add them to an existing diffuser blend for a little extra ‘oomph’. For diffusing on their own, try adding 8-10 drops of essential oil to your diffuser and adjust according to your personal scent preferences.
- Topical application. Add 1-2 drops to an unscented lotion or body butter and use it to hydrate and soothe the skin on the body. You can also add to a carrier oil like jojoba or coconut oil for a refreshing body massage.
- Create a healthy habit. Try dropping 1-3 drops of either lime or balsam fir (or try them together!) onto a tissue or clean cloth and inhale deeply before, during and after a wellness practice like yoga, meditation or journaling. Inhaling the sweet, fresh scents of these essential oils will remind your brain and body that you’re doing something nice for yourself; after all, self care is health care.
Smell is a potent wizard that transports us across thousands of miles and all the years we have lived.
