Treat yourself to natural wellness products that feel like a spa day at home

There’s almost nothing that feels as good as treating yourself to a day at the spa. Whether your spa service of choice is a soothing massage, a relaxation session in a sauna or steam room or an invigorating dip in the hot and cold pools, it’s really the act of choosing intentional, thoughtful time to invest in yourself that makes the biggest impact.

Since self care services look a little different for some of us these days, we wanted to share products and wellness rituals that you can recreate at home, reminiscent of a day at the spa. Our commitment at Saje has and always will be to create some of the best natural care products in the world, that are always free of synthetics and potential irritants to the skin and the respiratory systems like parabens, petroleum by-products and artificial fragrances. We think you’ll love some of these natural wellness products so much, you won’t be able to tell the difference!

Spa day at home: set the tone through scent

One of the most tantalizing aspects of a visit to the spa are the scents commonly wafting throughout the building. It’s not unusual to encounter a eucalyptus steam room or to have the experience of gentle aromas and soft music playing while you receive a massage. We want to help you have that same experience during your spa day at home, which is why we’re recommending our favorite diffuser and diffuser blends. A diffuser is a quick and simple way to positively impact the air in your home, releasing negative ions that help to elevate your overall well-being. Being able to customize your scent and the vibe it creates in your space is an added bonus! Here are some of our favorites:

Aroma Om Stone: this stylish diffuser is one of our Community’s favorites, both by aesthetic and functionality. This iteration of our classic Aroma Om is made with a sleek, slate grey cement cover and a BPA-free plastic interior water tank. With both a continuous and intermittent setting, the Aroma Om Stone can run for between 3-6 hours, and also includes an optional LED light feature; the perfect length of time for your spa day at home!

Spa Day diffuser blend: we would be remiss not to include our newest diffuser blend with a name to evoke the very experience we are looking to conjure. Spa Day is a refreshing, citrusy and woody blend of lemon, juniper berry, black spruce and labrador tea. Think of the feeling of being wrapped in a fluffy robe and sitting in front of the fireplace at a Scandinavian Spa; that’s Spa Day.

Deep Breath: inspired by the renewing experience of a steam room, this blend was formulated to help encourage rest and relaxation while focusing on mindful, intentional deep breaths. Essential oils of eucalyptus, marjoram, peppermint and lemon will make you feel like you’re already in the steam room.

Spa day at home: natural wellness products for your skin care routine

Next up for your spa day at home is some time spent pampering your skin. Our face is front and center each day and so we all want to feel confident and comfortable with having it on display. Taking time each day, and not just during your spa day at home, to care for and treat your skin can do wonders for its long-term health and well-being. Here are a few of the products we’re committed to each day:

Konjac Sponge Yam: this cleansing and enriching vegetable fiber sponge is hands down our favorite way to cleanse and treat the skin each day. Konjac is a root vegetable that is popular in certain types of cuisine; interestingly, it also makes for a gentle fiber that is able to be used daily for mild exfoliation and to encourage circulation in the skin to help in the appearance of even skin tone and reduced discolorations. Each sponge has about a 3-5 month shelf life depending on how frequently you use it, and when it’s time for a new one, you can toss your Konjac Sponge directly into your compost bin. How cool is that?

Rose Mist: after cleansing the skin, we love to generously spritz our well-loved Rose Mist directly over our hair, face and body for an instant refresh and for the many benefits of rose essential oil. Known to be hydrating, nurturing, calming to minor skin irritations like dryness and redness, rose is the loveliest treat for skin in need of a little TLC. You can continue to mist throughout the day as needed, whenever you’re looking for a freshening boost of hydration and florals.

Spa day at home: natural wellness products for your body care routine

Once your facial skin is feeling cleansed and treated, it’s time to move on to taking care of the skin on your body. What feels more spa-like than an aromatic bath, chock full of nurturing and supportive bath salts formulated to help your tense muscles begin to relax, followed by a deeply hydrating body butter to help lock in moisture. We’re going with a matching set in one of the most grounding scents we offer, Yoga:

Yoga bath salt soak: the Yoga scent at Saje was formulated to help you find your calm and your center. As one of the most popular product lines we offer, Yoga supports the body and mind in feeling balanced and in harmony, which is exactly why we encourage you to treat your hardworking body to a long soak in a warm bath with 2-5 tablespoons of this earthy, sweet and blissful soak, blended with soothing sea and epsom salts, alongside essential oils of peaceful patchouli, uplifting orange and euphoric neroli.

Yoga body butter: this brand new product, the latest in the Yoga line, has the same comforting and nurturing scent of our other Yoga products, also blended with bergamot, cardamom, cedarwood and vetiver. As a body hydrator, this formula also contains rich and creamy butters of cocoa seed, mango seed and shea, all known for providing long lasting moisture while absorbing easily and not sitting heavy or greasy on the skin. Post bath, slather this on and get ready to feel really, really good.

Spa day at home: natural wellness products to help manage stress

Of course we know that one of the unwritten rules of the spa is no stress allowed! The products and services offered there are designed in part to help us leave our worries behind, which is why our dream spa day at home is ripe with natural wellness products to help keep your mind and body still and free of stressors that can cause both physical and emotional manifestations. Here are our top picks for kicking stress to the curb:

Stress Release body oil: if you’re looking to recreate one of the most beloved spa experiences at home, the massage, whether with the help of a friend or partner or in a self-massage ritual, this grounding, balancing and deeply stress relieving body oil is an integral part of the experience. Stress Release body oil is formulated with nourishing carrier oils of antioxidant rich grapeseed, apricot kernel and vitamin E oils, with calming, relaxing essential oils like lavender, roman chamomile and clary sage.

Stress Release roll-on: this convenient, portable roll-on blends the same stress-busting essential oils as the body oil, also including orange, vetiver, geranium and myrtle. When symptoms of stress strike, we like to roll this soothing blend onto pulse points like the temples or wrists, or take a wellness moment we call the Saje Breath. This is a breathing exercise that is simple to perform and can have long lasting positive effects on the body and mind. Simply roll generously onto the palm of one of your clean hands, rub hands together vigorously to warm and activate the essential oils, make a cupping shape over the nose and mouth and breathe deeply. We suggest breathing in through your nose, holding for a few seconds at the top of your breath and a long, slow exhale out through the mouth. Repeat as desired.

Lifestyle tips for helping you create a spa day at home

A spa day at home is a relatively inexpensive, inventive way to marry self care and self kindness; think of it as an investment in yourself! Here are some creative lifestyle tips for bringing the spa to you:

  1. Try dry brushing. This age-old technique for full body exfoliation is one of the quickest ways to increase blood flow and circulation; the skin tends to flush and take on a pink tone, letting you know it’s working! Lift and tone your skin while giving yourself a revitalizing boost pre-bath or shower.
  2. Make your favorite drink. Whether it’s a fancy pour over coffee or a warm cup of matcha, take a few extra minutes to indulge in something that makes you feel comforted and supported.
  3. Give yourself a hand massage. With or without body oil, massaging the hands is one of the most relaxing ways to treat your body. Our hands are hardworking, and applying just the right amount of pressure to certain points in the hands can help them feel relaxed and at ease.
It’s not selfish to love yourself, take care of yourself, and make your happiness a priority. It’s necessary.
