Relaxing essential oil blends to help you unwind

Last Updated: 04/03/2024

We choose our favorite relaxing essential oil blends

If there’s anything we feel strongly about doing in the month of February, it’s relaxing. The chillier weather, the grey days, still smack in the middle of winter and longing for the sun of the summertime, we’re looking forward to feeling cozy and comfortable until the flowers start blooming in the spring.

Making and taking the time to relax and look after yourself is no longer considered selfish or a luxury. What we learned in 2020 is that now more than ever, prioritizing your overall happiness and well-being, which in turn helps to prioritize your overall health, is a must; a staple, a necessity, and the way forward for true self care. We’re excited to share with you some of the 100% natural products you can choose to help support your new year’s resolutions for increased wellness and relaxation.

Relaxing essential oil blends for after work

Working from home has brought all sorts of trials and tribulations for many of us, right alongside a myriad of benefits. Some of us struggled with our posture at our makeshift desks, or we felt challenged to separate work time from home time, and we found ourselves typing away long into the night. Others found a renewed sense of purpose in reclaiming their time normally spent commuting for example and turned this into a meaningful at-home fitness or meditation routine. However you find yourself spending your time after work, we’re almost certain you could use a little help in the relaxation department, which is why we’re sharing some of the products we love to help us chill out after work.

Aroma Om diffuser: this is our favorite diffuser for a few reasons. Not only is it super aesthetically pleasing to look at, it also boasts an optional LED light feature and a run time of between 3-6 hours, depending on a continuous or intermittent run cycle. When it’s time to relax, adding a few drops of a blend we love and letting the power of scent help us find peace is exactly what we need.

Unwind diffuser blend: after a long day of Zoom calls and “can you hear me?” nothing hits the spot like a warm, cozy, floral-citrus blend of lavender, bergamot and geranium wafting throughout the house. Add 5-10 drops to your diffuser of choice and feel the stress of the day start to melt away.

Stress Release roll-on: speaking of stress, this ultra balancing and soothing blend was formulated to help tackle symptoms of stress, including racing thoughts and a busy mind. If your work day has you feeling a little pent up, let it all go by rolling on the grounding properties of lavender, orange and clary sage to help you feel good. Better yet? Try a Saje breath; roll generously onto the palm of your hand, rub hands together and take 3-5 long deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth. Ahhh, instant relaxation.

Relaxing essential oil blends for hanging out at home

So you’re spending more time at home these days. Is it just us, or do you feel like you are doing a lot of dishes, laundry and vacuuming? Even when we love our space and how we feel in it, it can start to feel overwhelming to spend so much time in one place. We’re encouraging you to think of transforming your space to feel like a relaxation haven; an oasis of your own making. Think tranquil vibes, good energy, and the natural products and scents that make you feel good in your home.

Multi-Surface Cleaning Kit: since you’re cleaning anyway, you might as well enjoy the scents of nature while you’re doing it. This sustainable cleaner was formulated in a concentrate with a strategic combination of essential oils, plant-based surfactants and other water-softening agents designed to provide true multi-purpose functionality with deep cleaning and disinfecting properties in your home.

Liquid Sunshine foaming hand soap: we’re all doing double duty on hand washing too, which is why a non-drying, non-irritating, highly effective and deodorizing hand soap is super important! We love our foaming hand soaps in part because of how they leave our hands feeling - clean and fresh as well as hydrated and supple. Blended with saponified coconut and sunflower oils paired with lime, bergamot and orange, this fan favorite hand soap is an at-home essential.

Relaxing essential oil blends for your self care routine

One of the most relaxing ways to indulge in self care has to be partaking in a skin care regimen. Not only does it feel soothing to smoothe and pamper yourself with nourishing skin care products, it can also be good for the mind as you breathe in the healing power of plant ingredients and essential oils. When we want to feel relaxed and instantly gratified, we reach for certain products in our skin care tool kit for that fresh-from-the-spa feeling.

Clay Cleanse face mask: dirt, grime, oil and build up are no match for the purifying power of our Clay Cleanse face mask. Formulated with a base of soothing kaolin clay mineral, we’ve then added absorbent and pore-unclogging charcoal powder and restorative frankincense essential oil to help replenish moisture to dry skin. This treat for your skin can be used 1-3 times per week, or whenever you’re looking for an extra boost of wellness in your day.

Rose mist: one of our absolute favorite ways to relax and invest in our self care is through the healing power of rose. Rose, often referred to as The Queen of all essential oils in aromatherapy, is a precious oil that comes to us from the soft and velvety leaves of the rose blossom. Cherished for it’s moisturizing properties and for the positive ways it impacts our mental and emotional health, a good, thorough spritz of Rose mist can brighten your day in an instant. Bonus: spray generously over pillows and sheets at bedtime for a harmonizing experience.

Bare Face makeup remover: when you’re looking for the quickest and easiest way to a fresh, clean face at the end of your day, look no further than Bare Face. This product was formulated to gently remove your face and eye makeup with a calming blend of coconut oil, lavender and chamomile that treats your delicate skin with kindness.

Relaxing essential oil blends for a good night’s rest

We hear about it all the time, but it’s for good reason. Getting a full 7-9 hours of good quality, uninterrupted sleep is one of the single most important ways we can take care of our long term well-being. A good night’s rest is at the core of many of our bodily systems functioning optimally, including digestion and our stress response. What better way to help your mind and body relax as you head towards bedtime than with a soothing, restorative warm bath? We’re sharing our favorite products to use as part of our nightly wind down.

Sleep Well bath salts: wind down before bedtime with this restful bath salt blend, formulated with calming and relaxing valerian, sweet and soothing roman chamomile and calming and balancing lavender. Add 2-5 tablespoons of salt to a full bath when you are ready to climb in, to ensure the beneficial properties of the essential oils are not lost as they evaporate. Soak for 30 minutes and feel rested from head to toe.

Sleep Well body butter: this powerful yet soothing body butter is the perfect accompaniment to your post-bath time routine. When you want your body to feel nourished and moisture replenished and you also want your mind to feel eased and at peace, you’ve found your ideal body care product. Formulated with replenishing shea and coconut butters alongside lavender, blue chamomile and orange, this rich and luxurious body butter will help set the tone for rest.

Sleep Well roll-on: as the last step in your nighttime routine, reach for this roll-on to help ease your mind and body towards peace and calm. Our favorite places to use it are on the pulse points like our temples and wrists, though many of our Community Members swear by rolling onto the pulse points on their feet about 20-30 minutes before they intend to hop into bed to help set the tone for rest and relaxation. Our top tip? The blue-green color of the blend comes from the azulene in German Chamomile; avoid staining by wearing a clean pair of cotton socks to bed after application!

Which relaxing essential oil blends will you choose?

There are countless different ways we can use 100% natural, plant-based products to support our wellness and to help us relax throughout the day and night. One of our very favorite parts of natural self care is that there is no one-size-fits-all solution, and that personalized wellness regimens are not only possible for each of us, but half the fun! Finding what works best for you, however unconventional it may be for someone else, means you’re more likely to find a routine and not only stick with it, but thrive because of it.
