10 natural remedies that really work

Last Updated: 12/12/2023

You’ve heard the term natural remedies, but what does it really mean? Here at Saje, we’ve crafted our own definition to help demystify what it means to choose truly 100% natural, plant-based and nature-derived products and ingredients to support the betterment of your overall health and well-being.

We like to say, natural is our superpower and product is our passion. What this means is that when we say “100% natural”, we mean not 97%, not 99%, 100% natural. When we say natural,
we actually mean it. We prioritize pure and clean ingredients
above all else. We believe in nature and its ability to soothe ailments, calm the mind and invoke feelings of joy—that’s why
we make plant-based products to power every aspect of your life.

Read on to learn more about the 10 natural remedies we believe really work.

Healthy looking skin is that which feels smooth, supple, hydrated and supported. Some of the telltale signs that our skin’s health is off-center are things like redness and irritation, excessive dryness or oiliness, painful and regular breakouts or blemishes, and many other symptoms. Ensuring we’re using gentle, good for you and good for the planet skin care ingredients is one of the ways we can encourage our healthiest skin.

Skin care natural remedies we love:

Rose Mist: whether as an all-over face and body mist or as a toner as part of your skin care routine, Rose Mist is balancing, hydrating and smells delicious. In aromatherapy, rose is known for its nurturing and supportive properties, making it an excellent choice for treating your skin to harmonizing moisture and the reduced appearance of irritation like dryness. Spritz generously as needed!

Making the swap from synthetic to natural products can feel overwhelming, and we feel like daily use body care products is a simple place to start. After bathing or showering, it’s important to restore moisture to the skin through the use of a skin hydrator; check out two of our favorites below:

Body care natural remedies we love:

Lavender & Friends body lotion: relax into nourished and moisturized skin and a tranquil mind with this lavender filled, soothing lotion. Skin’s natural moisture balance is restored with aloe, shea nut oil and vitamin E while you settle the mind and spirit with the calming influence of clary sage and geranium. Apply liberally to skin to moisturize and relieve itchiness due to dryness.

Yoga body butter: one of our newest body care products comes to us from the popular Yoga product line, now available as a woody, earthy and sweet body butter. The Yoga scent is known for its grounding and stabilizing properties, and is now available to soothe and restore moisture to even the most sensitive and depleted skin. Mango seed, cocoa seed and shea butters help condition the skin and encourage moisture retention while essential oils of patchouli, cardamom, cedarwood and neroli encourage you to feel balanced and mentally refreshed. Our best tip is to apply Yoga body butter after bathing or showering while skin is still damp for optimal results.

Who doesn’t want the space they spend the most time in, their home, to smell clean, refreshed, deodorized and scented to their personal preference? We believe that diffusing is the simplest way to invite the naturally fresh and aromatic scents of nature into your home, helping your space smell wonderful while you feel amazing.

Diffuser blend natural remedies we love:

Liquid Sunshine diffuser blend: our top-seller and Community favorite diffuser blend is this bright, uplifting and cheerful blend of sunny citruses called Liquid Sunshine. Tart, zesty grapefruit meets sweet lime and juicy orange for an elevating scent experience. We love to diffuse Liquid Sunshine first thing in the morning to set the tone for an upbeat and positive day.

Refresh diffuser blend: when you want your home to smell and feel cleansed, deodorized and minty fresh, reach for this blend of invigorating essential oils including sweet spearmint, clearing eucalyptus and sunny lemon to help provide the perfect natural pick-me-up. Add 10-15 drops to your diffuser of choice and breathe in freshness.

When it comes to relieving pain naturally, we’re big believers in the healing power of plants. Many essential oils have been studied for the positive effects they can have on the body, including providing a warming and cooling sensation on the skin that helps to ease tension, tightness and soreness so you can move through your day feeling unencumbered.

Pain relieving natural remedies we love:

Pain Release roll-on: when you need some topical TLC, this relieving essential oil blend for muscle pains, strains and soreness is a game-changer. Blended with soothing and soreness-easing essential oils like marjoram, roman chamomile and rosemary, this analgesic roll-on can be applied directly to affected areas of muscular soreness, like biceps, calves, quads or knees.

Muscle Melt bath salt soak: soak away muscular aches, tenseness and stiffness in an invigorating and relieving bath blend. Ease pain with comforting essential oils like warming and penetrating rosemary, marjoram and eucalyptus and 100% naturally derived sea and epsom salts that help your body feel relief, fast. For best results, add a couple teaspoons of salts to a full bath and soak for up to 30 minutes.

One of our favorite ways to use natural remedies is in the pursuit of stress relief. We know that stress can affect everything from our mood to our energy levels and our sleep habits, which is why it’s so important to tackle symptoms of stress as soon as they occur. Using natural formulas can help create a sense of ease in the body and mind that allows us to seek peace, calm and tranquility.

Stress relieving natural remedies we love:

Stress Release roll-on: this floral and herbaceous blend of soothing lavender, roman chamomile, geranium and myrtle can be rolled along the forehead, neck and shoulders for relief from tenseness, but our favorite way to use it is in a breathing exercise we call a Saje Breath. Simply roll generously onto the palm of one of your freshly washed hands, rub hands together to warm and activate the essential oils, create a cup shape with your hands over your nose and mouth and begin to breathe deeply. We suggest a long, slow inhale in through your nose and a long, slow exhale out through your mouth. Repeat as desired to feel at ease.

Stress Release diffuser blend: invite the release from stress into your home by diffusing this powerful yet gentle blend in any room you choose. Floral and herbaceous notes of lavender, clary sage and myrtle help set the tone for an environment that feels balanced and tranquil, and can even be used to help you unwind in the evening as you head towards bedtime.

Everything in nature invites us constantly to be what we are.
