A reed diffuser emits a gentle, subtle aroma as the essential oils evaporate and disperse from the rattan reeds. An ultrasonic diffuser uses water and ultrasonic vibration that creates cool mist which carries essential oil molecules in the air.  

A reed diffuser is best suited to a smaller space for ambient aroma, whereas an ultrasonic diffuser can be used to create a stronger scent experience in a larger area.

Reed diffusers are meant to provide a mild, subtle scent experience in your space as the aroma from the essential oils is released via evaporation and dispersion from the reeds. Because the aroma is intentionally gentle and ambient, we recommend a smaller space like a bathroom, home office or reading nook.

The reeds as part of the Aroma Reed are made from a material called rattan. Rattan is a great material due to its nature as being durable, flexible and yet lightweight. We chose it because it also offers a natural, warm aesthetic and because it has excellent wicking ability. The material is naturally porous, which means it efficiently absorbs and also releases through gentle passive diffusion the aroma of the plant oils, allowing for a scent release that is long-lasting and consistent. Lastly, rattan comes from a vine-like palm plant that is known as sustainable because it grows quickly and represents a renewable resource, making it an environmentally and ethically responsible choice.

At this time, our Aroma Reed diffusers are not refillable and are available only as a limited-edition holiday item. We do not offer replacement reeds at this time. The glass bottle can be recycled according to your local guidelines for glass recycling, and the reeds can be placed in the trash.
